INTRUSIONS

It has become evident from risk assessments, vulnerability analyses and security surveys of security installations carried out throughout South Africa by ISC, as well as in-depth operational evaluations conducted at local and off-shore installations, that standard conventional security systems are no longer effective against the level of crime currently being experienced. Criminals have worked out ways and means of breaching perimeter security barriers and systems. Corruption and intimidation is evident. Crime syndicates have become professional organisations, highly skilled and lethal

The reaction of many is to seek the advice of sales consultants and security companies who will generally provide quality equipment, but their expertise and core business is in selling specific products and not in holistic security planning and advising on the full spectrum of security.

ISC Intrusion Tests identify the weakest link in your security system before the intruder does

Advantages:

  • Provides proof of vulnerability and weakest link from the point of view of the potential attacker.
  • Tests the security system to withstand an attack and enables you to prioritise corrective measures.
  • It is the fastest and most effective way to pinpoint real vulnerabilities in the system.
  • Identifies and demonstrates most likely action the attacker will take to reach internal targets.
  • Tests ability to respond. (Armed response)
  • Determines resistance of the total security system to defeat
  • The weakest link can be rectified in order to raise the level of security to that which the client expected and paid for. This is often accomplished at little or no cost to the client.

ISC's intrusion tests and investigations of real intrusions have highlighted the ease with which perimeter security systems are breached. Time taken to breach these security barriers is generally under 30 seconds, and not longer than 2 minutes.

Intrusions: Walls and Fences

Boundary walls and electric fences are easily breached by climbing, cutting through, forcing open or digging under the boundary. Blankets, rubber mats, carpets, planks, wire cutters, pliers, scissor jacks, and crowbars are the ‘tools’ most frequently used.

Intrusions: Electric Fences

Electric fences are a good deterrant and obstacle only if correctly installed and designed. The majority are easily breached
